Process
Our process has five distinct aspects—all of which are integral to every investment we make.
Invest in sectors we know.
Knowledge is power. In business, it’s a function of intelligence, information, experience, and relationships. Such knowledge informs future insights. For this reason, VisioCap invests only in sectors in which our knowledge—built over many years—provides a distinct investment advantage.
Write the last chapter first.
Once a potential opportunity is identified, we design a vision for its future state and eventual sale. Writing the last chapter first promotes an understanding of what the business should look like at exit and the permanent shift in value that must occur to accomplish our return expectations.
Determine the seminal event.
Our strategy relies on shifting value in a deliberate and proactive manner. We do this through the identification, orchestration, and facilitation of “seminal events.” These could include resolving a long-standing dispute, winning expanded distribution, designing improved marketing programs, redesigning packaging for more retail opportunities, or any one of a number of changes that permanently alters the marketplace’s perception of a company, resulting in meaningful value creation.
Focus on plan execution.
Our sector knowledge elevates our relationships with our portfolio company executives and allows us to execute more effectively. We bring their companies real-world experience, multifaceted knowledge of their sector, and industry relationships that help them address the challenges they face, while enhancing their ability to achieve their business goals.
Exit our investment.
We strive to deliver consistent and outstanding investment returns to our members by achieving an exit that accomplishes our stated investment goals. Our plans are designed to accomplish transformative value appreciation early in each investment’s life, as doing so will have a meaningful effect on generating outsized returns. We drive a culture of urgency throughout the companies in which we invest.
