Investment Team

David Cunningham

David Cunningham, Co-Founder

Before co-founding VisioCap, David was a partner at Pegasus Capital Advisors, a middle market private equity firm with approximately $2.2 billion in assets. He was also a member of the firm’s executive committee and investment committee. Over his 13 years with the firm, David led acquisitions, oversaw growth, and executed investment realizations across all five of Pegasus’s funds. His primary focus was investments in the consumer products sector.

David has served as a member or observer on the board of directors for each of VisioCap’s investment companies, including serving as board chair for BreathableBaby and Wet Noses. In addition, David serves on the board of directors of the JPMA as well as First Candle, where he previously served as board chair for six years, and on the Board of Advisors to the Tufts University Athletics Department.

Steve Marton

Steve Marton, Co-Founder

Before co-founding VisioCap, Steve was a senior operating partner at Pegasus Capital Advisors, a middle market private equity firm with approximately $2.2 billion in assets. He led the firm’s efforts in talent acquisition and assessment, organizational structure and design, strategy, goal alignment, financial reporting, and board composition, and also served as board chair and chief executive officer of Halo, Purely for Pets.

Prior to Pegasus, Steve worked at Newell Rubbermaid, where he was a corporate officer and group president of the office products division. Previously, he had worked for Colgate Palmolive, where he was most recently the president and chief operating officer of Hill’s Pet Nutrition, one of the world’s largest specialty pet food brands.

Steve has served as a member or observer on the board of directors for each of VisioCap’s investment companies, including serving as board chair for Nature’s Logic. In addition, Steve serves on the board of the JPMA Cares foundation and the Bethel Woods Center for the Arts and is a Board Member Emeritus for The Cummings School of Veterinary Medicine at Tufts University. Steve was also a board member of PetSmart Charities for 12 years, including serving as board chair during his last three years of service. In 2021, Steve was named by Pet Age to its inaugural Pet Industry’s 2021 Power 50 List.

Phil Brogan

Phil Brogan, Senior Associate

Phil joined VisioCap as an associate in 2020. His primary responsibilities include supporting firm-related objectives, working closely with portfolio companies, and evaluating new investment opportunities.

Phil began his career at M&T Bank and later joined Conduent, a global IT services provider. Prior to VisioCap, Phil spent two years at BAYI Capital Management where he focused on sourcing, analyzing, and structuring impact-oriented investments across the African continent.

Phil earned a BS in Finance and an MBA from St. John Fisher University, where he also played for the men’s soccer team. He currently serves on the board of directors of Jamaican Advantage thru Sports for Youth (JASY), a non-profit organization aimed at enriching the lives of at-risk Jamaican children.

Jen Loesch

Jen Loesch

Jen is currently CEO at BreathableBaby, a VisioCap portfolio company. BreathableBaby designs, manufactures, and sells simple, smart sleep products, including its flagship patented Breathable Mesh Crib Liner. Prior to BreathableBaby, Jen was general manager of Sojos, a pioneer in raw, rehydratable dog food and gourmet treats. Before Sojos, Jen worked for Petco, where she was vice president of merchandising for six years and led hardlines, softlines, and services.

Jen brings over two decades of experience across manufacturing and retail, with the last ten years dedicated to the pet industry. She was recognized as a 2018 Pet Age Women of Influence winner. Jen also brings expertise in product development, procurement, operations, supply chain, marketing, and e-commerce from 3M, Imation, Eastman Kodak, Honeywell, Best Buy, and Target.

Jen Loesch

Johnni Rodgers

Johnni is a general management marketer with a proven track record of rapid business acceleration across the many businesses she’s worked on. Throughout her 15-year career in the consumer products industry, she has played an integral role in the turnaround, acceleration, and innovation efforts across many well-known brands, including but not limited to Planters®, The Laughing Cow®, Eggo®, FruitLove® and Kraft® Macaroni and Cheese.

Known as much for her strategic agility and strong leadership as she is her executional ability, Johnni has demonstrated her capacity to drive top and bottom line value across a wide variety of business models, sizes, distribution channels, organizational cultures, and business contexts.

Johnni Rodgers is the former CEO of Wet Noses® Natural Dog Treat Company, a premier manufacturer and marketer of branded (Wet Noses, Doggy Delirious, Best Homies) and private label pet treats.

Marilyn Sherwin

Marilyn Sherwin

Marilyn is an experienced operating executive who began her career in market research and systems design before joining Vipont Pharmaceuticals, where she was Director of Operations until the company was acquired by Colgate Palmolive.

Marilyn subsequently integrated into Colgate and held various roles of increasing responsibility, including a six-year period residing in the UK as the European Director of Purchasing & Logistics for Hill’s Pet Nutrition and later the Global Director of Strategic Purchasing. She was also founding partner and VP of Computer Operations at Avert, an automated pre-employment screening company that was acquired by ADP in 2001.

Marilyn has held VP of Operations roles at Halo, Purely for Pets as well as VisioCap portfolio companies Dooli Products and Nature’s Logic, where she helped to develop and integrate Finance, Data Analytics & Business Intelligence, and Sales & Operations Planning systems.

Marilyn is a longstanding member of both the U.S. Equestrian Federation and U.S Dressage Federation through which her horses, Cafka and Soraya II, show at the Prix Saint George and Grand Prix levels, respectively. Marilyn is a Long Island, NY native and a graduate of the University of Michigan. She currently resides in Wellington, FL with her husband and two horses.

Norman Coleman

Senator Norm Coleman

Norm is currently of counsel at Hogan Lovells, counseling clients on a wide range of regulatory and government affairs issues. Having dedicated over three decades to public service, Norm served six years in the U.S. Senate, where he sat on the Foreign Relations Committee. Prior to his tenure in the Senate, Norm was mayor of St. Paul, Minnesota.

Torrey Foster

Torrey Foster

Torrey is currently vice chair in the consumer practice at Korn Ferry. He leads senior-level executive search and leadership succession engagements, principally at the CEO, board, and president level, in addition to select CMO and CHRO assignments. Prior to joining Korn Ferry, Torrey was a partner at Heidrick and Struggles, where he led the firm’s consumer private equity team.

Robert Haas

Bob Haas

Bob is currently a partner at A.T. Kearney, where he leads the M&A and private equity practices in the Americas. He brings more than 20 years of experience working with clients in the consumer, healthcare, financial services, technology, and private equity sectors. Bob's practice focuses on strategic and transformational issues, including M&A strategy and integration, due diligence, supply chain, shared services, IT transformation, and enterprise restructuring.
